Happy Holidays from New Pond Village

December is often a very busy month for most people, and the residents and associates of New Pond Village are no exception to that rule.  The Vibrant Living Department has been running around all month from one event to the next.  We kicked off the Holiday Season with a Holiday Family Night at Aldridge House on December 5th.  John Rampino serenaded us with his accordion while guests mingled and hit-up the Hot Chocolate Bar.  It was a great way to start our season off and we were so happy that so many family members attended the event.

The next item on our list was the annual Gazebo and Tree Lighting Ceremony.  Each year we gather 'round the gazebo with cookies and cocoa and a list of holiday songs.  Once we're finished singing, Peter Welsh gives the signal and our lights are turned on.  It's a moment we look forward to each year!

Another highlight from December includes a performace from "The Singing Trooper" Sgt. Dan Clark and his lovely wife, Mary.  Dan and Mary combine their talents for this "Holiday Spectacular" and spectacular it was!

Please enjoy the photos below that illustrate just a few of our December events.  We wish you all a safe and healthy holiday and look forward to sharing more with you in 2014!

Happy Veteran's Day!

Each November, the Vibrant Living Department works hand in hand with Dining Services to create a special luncheon for those who fought for our freedom.  It means so much to all of us to be able to give back to these men and women who gave so much for their country.

The Veterans were served a delicious meal that included Caesar salad, Filet Mignon and All-American apple pie a la mode.  We saluted our flag, sang the songs of each branch and shared stories of courage and valor among friends.

We give thanks to all the veterans who fought, and those who are still fighting, to keep our country free and strong.

The Roaring 20's at New Pond Village

For our most recent theme dinner, we revisited a time of bootleggers, flappers and people dancing to the charleston.  We had a fantastic time planning this big event and even more fun watching so many residents get into the spirit of the fast-moving decade.  The night is best explained in the many pictures below...

Team Trivia Night!

Doug Jansen of Team Trivia New England came out to New Pond Village on Thursday, September 12th for an evening of fun.  5 teams competed for the win in this challenging game of wits.  The "Bridgers and Gamers" (or B&G's as they are affectionately known) ended up taking the title as they played against "The Know Knothings", "The Winners", "The Oddballs" and "The Grady Bunch."

The evening was such a success that we have already booked Doug to come back the Thursday before Thanksgiving for another round of trivia.  See below for photos of our evening of fun...
