I Scream, You Scream...!

We all scream for ice cream! Here in the Vibrant Living Department - we believe there is nothing better than ice cream.  That being said, the only thing better than ice cream is having that ice cream brought to you by an ice cream truck.  We recently hired a truck, driver, and over 100 ice creams to treat residents and associates of New Pond Village. The truck came from Dylan and Pete's , Boston's Premiere Ice Cream Truck Company.  With our renovations well underway - the treat was certainly appreciated by all who participated.  In addition to the ice creams we served steamed hot dogs and also put together a small farm stand and sold veggies and flowers.  Once again, the weather was on our side and really helped to create a magnificent day.

Aldridge Outdoor Barbeque

On Wednesday, August 21st - the Vibrant Living Gals became the Grill Gals.  We did our best to serve up an All-American BBQ to all residents of Aldridge House.  Grilled chicken, hot dogs and hamburgers were served alongside delicious baked beans and of course - sports bars for dessert.  The weather cooperated and many people ate outside.

Richard Travers Presents: Italian Fest!

As magnificent scenes from Italy played on the big screen, Richard Travers serenaded the crowd with his beautiful renditions of Italian songs on the piano.  Residents enoyed delicious pastries from Guarino's Pastry Shop in Norwood, MA alongside fresh ciabatta bread, breadsticks and grapes.
Centerpieces were awarded to the lucky resident
that sat in the chair that had a ticket under it!

Thw Winiker Brothers Outdoor Concert

Planning outdoor events has not been easy this summer, but re-scheduling the rained-out Winker Brothers concert was defintely worth the wait.  A good crowd turned out for the evening concert and a good time was had by all.  Familiar tunes like "Sweet Caroline", "Olde Cape Cod" and "The Way You Look Tonight" filled the air as the sun set on New Pond Village.  We look forward to having the Winiker Brothers back in October for our Roaring 20's Theme Dinner!

Woodworking with Charlie

Starting in June, we began offering a woodworking class with our volunteer, Charlie Ghiringhelli. Charlie is a retired industrial arts teacher from Needham, MA and brings with him years of experience and wisdom. The program has been a great success so far!
