The 2014 Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony Social

Every two years one lucky city produces an astounding event that celebrates athletes from all over the world. The opening ceremonies are hailed by many as the most thrilling piece of the Olympic puzzle.  In honor of this year’s games in Sochi, Russia, we hosted a social hour dedicated to the Winter Olympics.  The ceremony itself was shown on the big screen the same evening at 7:30 P.M.

Al, Lois and Jean enjoy the spirit of the winter games.

Sue, Fiona and Ann all enjoying the party - they even dressed the part!

Marilyn the Mixologist serves the best drinks around.

Charlie and Ellie Barbagallo had an extra reason to celebrate - it was their 60th wedding anniversary!
Congratulations Charlie and Ellie!

John Donovan and I took this picture right after we got off the dance floor - we are laughing because I am such a bad dancer!

New Pond Village Committee Expo

On January 24th the Vibrant Living Department assisted residents with the Second Annual New Pond Village Committee Expo.  The Expo is designed to showcase each and every one of our committees in the auditorium for new and seasoned residents to explore.  Many committees and clubs are in need of new members – and the expo offered a unique opportunity to explore all that New Pond Village has to offer.  In addition to resident-run committees, the expo featured in-house services including the Dedham Savings Bank, Excella Healthcare, Hearing Solutions and the Yankee Clipper Hair Salon.

Carolyn and Pat represented the Activities Committee with candies, a raffle and a suggestion box.  After the expo the Activity Committee secured some new members and plenty of wonderful new ideas!

Berniece, a regular volunteer in the Curiosity Shop, showed off some of the store items.  The Curiosity Shop is open every Monday from 10:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. and sells everything from candles to couches.  Be sure to stop by!

Karen Tenaglia, the stylist for the Yankee Clipper Hair Salon, was so busy in her shop that our Vibrant Living Assistant Marilyn had to represent her table! Too much business is never a bad thing, Karen!
