Summer in New England

WRAPPING UP A WONDERFUL SUMMER...
Sailing in a schooner on Narragansett Bay, a traditional New England Clambake upon the Pilgrim Belle in Plymouth Harbor, patio cookouts, outdoor music and a "trip" to the 1893 Chicago World's Fair...just a few of the happenings during the last few weeks of this beautiful summer.

Check out our latest selection of photos from recent events and excursions below...

We live in New England. We love the water.

We all know that feeling...that feeling you get when Labor Day Weekend is fast approaching and there's just no way that summer has already come to an end.  With that feeling creeping in on  all of us, it's no surprise that many residents have taken advantage of the various sailing and boating excursions we have recently offered.

Two thumbs up before she's even started her meal! Marie is one happy customer!

Jean's turn to capture a gorgeous evening on the water.

Glen Magna Farms

Tucked away behind the busy roads of Danvers, you will find Glen Magna Farms, a gorgeous mansion surrounded by meticulously maintained formal grounds on 11 acres of land.  The house currently serves as a venue for weddings and events and also takes reservations for guided house and garden tours.

Glen Magna Farms has hundreds of years of fascinating history - if you want to learn more click on the link here.

Paint Night!

Led by our talented instructor, Maura Garrity, a small group of brave, novice painters decided to try something new on a Friday night.  With a little bit of courage (in the form of wine), we created some pretty wonderful paintings! See our masterpieces below!

PATRICIA PERRY PRESENTS:
THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH

"Make [the Chicago World's Exposition] bigger and better than any that have preceded it. Make it the Greatest Show on Earth." ~P.T. Barnum

And with that sound advice in mind, the Chicago World’s Exposition was born. We closed your eyes. We envisioned what it would look like if the world's greatest achievements and inventions were collected in one place. In 1893, this vision was realized at the Chicago World's Fair.  Patricia Perry successfully transported us to a world of wonder filled with light, treasures and forbidden delights.

We look forward to having Patricia back again in October and the entire audience will be part of a Salem witch trial!

SOUTHEAST MASSACHUSETTS
COMMUNITY CONCERT BAND

On August 14, the weather cooperated once again and set the mood for a perfect evening filled with beautiful outdoor melodies.  Everything from military salutes to broadway tunes were presented to us on this wonderful evening.  The band is made up of over 30 members that come from (you guessed it), all over southeastern Massachusetts.  This was their third performance here at New Pond Village and we are looking forward to having them back again next year.

Reese was happy to be out listening to music with Richard

The sun seemed to set just in time as the last song came to a close...
