May

April delivered it's fair share of showers, and now we are all anxiously awaiting the  May flowers.  Since our last post, we have been busy both indoors and out, preparing for a wonderful spring and summer.  Our most recent photos are posted below...

The "before picture" of the Aldridge raised bed.  We plan to dedicate a lot of time this spring and summer to make our gardens as beautiful as possible.  Stay tuned for updates!

Tea Time at Fancy That

On Thursday, April 23rd a small group loaded the bus for quite possibly the shortest trip ever to Fancy That, an adorable tea house right next door on Main St.  Delicious tea sandwiches among other treats were served alongside a wide variety of tea.

ALDRIDGE COUNTRY / CITY RIDE

Our weekly Aldridge country rides turned into a city ride recently as Mary led the bus into Blue Hills for a gorgeous view of the city.

SPICE in Motion

Spiritual, Physical, Intellectual, Cultural and Emotional combine to form the acronym SPICE, a basic guide for balanced programming within all Brightview Communities. The SPICE in Motion class is just one example of a physical activity that is offered. Below are a few action shots of our favorite CFS (Certified Fitness Specialist) Mary, leading her daily exercise class.

On a sunny but blustery day, we boarded the bus with our Nordic Poles and drove over to Bird Park in Walpole.  See our pictures below...

Guided Walking Tour of
Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute

A group of 15 residents boarded the bus to Cape Cod for a guided tour of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute followed by lunch at Captain Kidd Restaurant.  A wonderful day was had by all!

April

Sweet April, you've finally arrived! We made it through this historic winter and now that the snow is beginning to melt, I think it's safe to say that we are all feeling a little bit like this guy...

So what have we been up to since mid-March?  Well first we celebrated St. Patrick's Day with a wonderful concert featuring the talented Richard Travers.  Richard gave us a "Tour of Ireland" complete with songs from all over the Emerald Isle as well as a few silly jokes.  We sipped on Irish Coffee and enjoyed the Irish soda bread and music to go along with it.  Enjoy the photos below...

On a recent trip to The Butterfly Place in Westford, MA, we were immersed by hundreds of beautiful butterflies, koi fish, and small birds enjoying the warm temperatures of their indoor habitat.  The Great Mormon Butterfly (among others) seemed to take a particular liking to Gail...we were told that the color of her sweater actually attracted them to her!

Apparently butterflies run on Dunkins too!
