Summer Afternoons

With our gardens in full bloom and outdoor activities abounding, we thought the best way to sum up the past month is with the below quote from Henry James...

Summer is in full swing at New Pond Village
and below are the pictures to prove it...

The Westwood Swing Band

On Thursday, July 10th, residents of New Pond Village found themselves heading out into the parking lot to find a seat for the evening concert.  At 7:00pm the Westwood Swing Band began their one hour concert under as the sun set under a clear sky.  See below for some photos of the evening...

*Our next outdoor concert is Thursday, August 14th at 7:00pm with the Southeastern Community Concert Band - as you can see from the pictures below,
the seats fill up fast so be sure to come early!

IMPROV WORKSHOP WITH
JUDITH KALAORA

On Wednesday, July 16th, Judith Kalaora took us outside our comfort zones and encouraged us to learn something new: Improvisational "playback" Theatre.  We learned how to communicate with numbers instead of words, how to create human emotion through body language only and  ultimately how to re-tell a story using words, music and movement. The brave residents that participated left feeling confident that they tried something new and truly enjoyed all the laughs that were had during the program.

Can you guess what Gail is trying to show us?
Hint: She was supposed to pretend there was a banana peel under her foot...

Jean illustrates "what you felt like the first time you fell in love" through body langauage

Eileen is "sculpting" Lucy into a person who is ecstatic to have learned
that they just got the job! Needless to say there were plenty of laughs!!!!

New Pond Village in Bloom

We are so fortunate to have many resident garden experts that put in hard work all year long.  At last the flowers are in full bloom and gently remind us all of nature's awesome ability to rebound after the cold and snow each winter.  The below photos are just a small sample of our gorgeous grounds, please take some time in the next few months to visit and enjoy the hard work of some very dedicated residents.
