Toto, I have a feeling we're not in Walpole anymore...

That "feeling" of being transported to another land seemed to resonate with both residents and associates during our most recent theme dinner, Somewhere Over the Rainbow. The atmosphere was lighthearted, fun and filled with bright colors. Residents unleashed their creativity and transformed into characters from the movie. We saw Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man, Lion and even Romeo made a cameo as Toto! There were witches (both good and bad), munchkins, Aunt Em and, of course, the flying monkeys that served the dinner!

It was quite something to put this event together during the 75th Anniversary of the classic film with food, music and fun. I think I speak for most when I say we all had a wonderful time. Enjoy the photos below and always remember, "there's no place like home..."

Patricia Perry of Sneak Peek Productions Presents: "Witches"

Did you know that the majority of homes, graves and artifacts associated with the Salem witch trials are not actually located in Salem?  The next town over, sleepy, relatively conservative Danvers, was known until more than half a century after the trials as Salem Village and was home to most of those directly involved.

Patricia Perry delivered a fascinating program loaded with many more interesting facts and stories you won't find in most textbooks. Our audience examined witchcraft through history from the perspective of the accused and the accusers, with that special Sneak Peek Productions twist, of course...see the photos below to find out which audience member was accused of witchcraft!

It's hard to believe that tomorrow is Halloween!  A costume party and social hour is planned for 4:30pm in the Village Club and I will do my best to get the photos posted as soon as possible.
