June was a month filled with programs and activities designed around the much anticipated warm weather.
We hope you enjoy our photos of events and outings in the last month...
Patricia Perry Presents: Weddings Unveiled
Modern brides carry flowers, wear something borrow and something blue, and often get carried over the threshold. These modern traditions have very old roots, sometimes dating back to the ancient Greeks and Romans. This show, presented by Patricia Perry of Sneak Peek Productions, took a very candid look at engagement, wedding, and wedding night traditions, and even had some audience participation! See below for photos...

Almost ready! |

From L to R - our bridesmaid, bride, maid of honor, best "man" and Patricia Perry. How wonderful was it that our chosen bride, Eileen Quinn, never got a chance to wear a wedding gown on her own wedding day as she and her husband were both in the military at the time. Congratulations all over again to Eileen - you are a beautiful bride! |
Heritage Museum and Gardens - Sandwich, MA
Heritage Museums & Gardens is comprised of three galleries and expansive gardens located in historic Sandwich, Massachusetts. It includes galleries for American Folk Art, a vintage carousel, automobiles and traveling exhibitions. During our visit we were given a guided tour of the Wyeth exhibit which offered insights into the work of these giants of American art. N. C. Wyeth’s sixteen oil paintings from Poems of American Patriotism, with their depictions of George Washington, Paul Revere, and Abraham Lincoln served as the departure point. Landscapes by Andrew Wyeth speak to the importance of land and sea in defining American identity. Also included are evocative and provocative images by Jamie that deal with some of the figures of our times and our preoccupation with mystery and mortality. We also got a chance to see the gardens which feature a collection of thousands of rhododendrons, including a collection of the world-renowned Dexter variety. The grounds also include the Old East Mill, a windmill built in Orleans, Massachusetts in 1800, and extensively restored in 1999-2000.
