March 2014: In Search of Spring

Each year March seems to tease us with a few days of warmth and sunshine, letting us think that spring has sprung even though Jack Frost is still lingering.  This year, March completely missed that memo and had us freezing from beginning to end - no reprieve at all.  We somehow managed to have a lot of fun despite the cold - but I think I speak for everyone when I say we are not sad to see March go!

We kicked the month of with $1.00 Photo Day led by professional photographer Mike Viegas of Viegas Photography in St. Petersburg Beach, FL.  Mike is the son-in-law of New Pond Village resident Margie Daganhardt and was generous enough to offer his services to us during his March visit to Walpole.  All residents and associates were invited to have their photos taken for only $1.00 a photo!  We served our 25 Cent Hot Dogs alongside the photo session and all had a wonderful time.

Other highlights in March included an Irish sing-along with Jack Craig and a book review of E.L. Doctorow's World's Fair with WBZ AM Radio Host Jordan Rich.

We are very much looking forward to warmer weather and new activities here in our Vibrant Living Department.  Be certain to check our blog monthly for new and exciting updates.
