The month of June was jam-packed with activities and outings. We have been blessed with beautiful weather almost every day this month which certainly helps
with our outdoor excursions. We hope you enjoy the photos and videos below.
THE SINGING STATE TROOPER
Sgt. Daniel Clark, also known as The Singing State Trooper, was nothing short of amazing during his most recent visit. His program, 'America', was appropriately filled with a variety of patriotic ballads and an unforgettable salute to the services as he honored each branch of the military with its own service song. The video below illustrates just a small sample of the talent and professionalism that come with a performance from Sgt. Clark. We are looking forward to having him back for a holiday program in December where he will share the stage with his wife, Mary.
HINGHAM FERRY TO BOSTON
Lunch was the first stop on this excursion and residents enjoyed their meals at Alma Nove Restaurant in the Hingham Shipyard. Many young Bostonians will tell you that the restaurant is owned by Paul Wahlberg, brother to actors/singers Donnie and Mark Wahlberg. Following our almost famous lunch, we boarded the 1pm ferry which provided gorgeous views of the city on a picture perfect day.
BOSTON BUS TOUR WITH
STEPHEN COLLINS
Critically acclaimed actor, teacher and historian, Stephen Collins joined us on our bus and narrated a 100 minute tour that included the historical, literary, and architectural treasures of "Beantown". Our day in the city was completed with lunch at the No Name Restaurant at the Fish Pier.
HERITAGE MUSEUM AND GARDENS
Heritage Museum and Gardens is comprised of three galleries and expansive gardens located in historic Sandwich on Cape Cod. Our docent transported us from Paris to the Caribbean to Venice and beyond as we experienced the CUT! Costume and Cinema exhibit, on display through October 2016. Forty-three costumes worn by stars including Scarlett Johansson, Kate Winslet, Julie Christie, Maggie Smith, Heath Ledger, Ralph Fiennes, Minnie Driver, Robert Downey Jr., and more were all included in this evocative star-studded exhibition of movie costume excellence. The Pilot House just down the road provided a delicious lunch and a beautiful view.
AROUND THE COMMUNITY
Gourmet cookouts, gardens in bloom, ducks on the move, summer fun, exercise and more - there's no shortage of things to do right here at home, and the residents of New Pond Village are certainly making the most of this beautiful summer...
