August Highlights at New Pond Village

When updating this blog each month, my goal is to create a community snapshot that relies heavily on photographs to tell the story.  As I gathered the images for August, it occurred to me that I owe special thanks to Vibrant Living Assistant Anne Cavalieri and resident, Shirley Hutchins.  I am deeply grateful to both of you for your photography skills and willingness to share. The moments you capture paint a beautiful picture of our community and lifestyle without the need for words.
Thank you.

 SUNSET CRUISE ON
THE CHARLES RIVER

On Thursday, August 11, it was very HOT.  It was so hot, in fact, that there was a heat advisory that lasted until 8pm!  The rising temperatures did not stop the residents from cruising down the Charles River to enjoy a beautiful sunset. Although we cannot control the weather when planning our outings, relief came in the form of Mary Mac, who had full control of the A/C on the bus!

PATIO COOK-OUT

Chef Peter Wagner was in charge of both the menu and the cooking for the last patio cook-out on Tuesday, August 16.  Residents were treated to beef tenderloin, lobster tail, pasta salad with shrimp and zucchini pancakes with tarragon.  Residents were thrilled with the meal and a wonderful conclusion to the popular patio cook-outs.

NEW SOUND ASSEMBLY CHORUS

The 30+ member chorus blended 4-part a cappella singing to a full-house for an evening of beautiful music.
